DONALD B. LEVENTHAL

Don is a corporate and transactional attorney associated with CMN, with over 20 years of experience representing a variety of entrepreneurial, insurance, not-for-profit, and real estate clients. Don has been involved in a number of significant transactions, including what was at the time the largest health care industry merger in Illinois history, the acquisition of a syndicate on the Illinois Insurance Exchange, state and federal registration of securities offerings, and the purchase, sale and lease of numerous office and retail properties in the Chicago metropolitan area.

EDUCATION

Don received a B.A. from Michigan State University, B.A. in 1983. He graduated law school at The Ohio State University in 1986. Don was the editor of The Ohio State College of Law Journal and a member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court team. He was also an extern in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio for the Honorable John D. Holschuh.

ADMISSIONS

Don is admitted to practice law in Illinois (1986) and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (1991).

Practice Highlights

Don is a corporate and transactional attorney who represents a variety of entrepreneurial, insurance, not-for-profit, and real estate clients. In addition to being involved in a number of significant transactions, Don has negotiated joint ventures with a variety of international entities, supply and OEM agreements, and intellectual property licensing agreements. In the course of his corporate practice, Don has also acquired considerable experience in estate planning and administration, as well as pension, benefits, and ERISA compliance.

Publications

In the early 1990’s, Don co-authored a series of articles on various aspects of U.S. law for publication in a Japanese journal of international law.
