VITTORIO F. TERRIZZI

Victor is a member of Chittenden, Murday & Novotny, LLC. He is an experienced business litigator, trial attorney, and counselor, who has practiced with CMN for more than 10 years after working at one of the country’s largest law firms and as a criminal prosecutor. Victor represents clients in all phases of litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings. His extensive litigation and trial practice has put him in federal and state courts both in Illinois and throughout the county and he has practiced before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), formally known as the National Association of Securities Dealers.
Victor also has a long history of public service ranging from pro bono assignments as appointed counsel through the Northern District of Illinois Federal Trial Bar, independently through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and the Chicago Bar Association, and in the past as the founder of the AIDS Awareness Program at the University of Iowa, as a criminal investigator in Washington D.C. for indigent defendants, and as a prosecutor.
Outside of work, Victor enjoys being with his wife and two sons, coaching youth sports, the great outdoors, reading, amateur mechanics, and lively debate.
Education/Admissions
EDUCATION
Victor graduated from the University of Iowa in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998 and was a CALI Award Recipient for legal writing. While in law school, Victor was a co-founder of the Chicago-Kent Criminal Justice Society and was a summer extern for the Hon. Elaine Bucklo of the Northern District of Illinois and the Hon. Timothy Greeley of the Western District of Michigan.

Victor is member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Western District of Michigan, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Practice Highlights
Victor has successfully represented clients in all manner of claims involving breach of contract, class action defense, breach of non-compete and other restrictive covenants, ERISA, STOLI, business torts, trade secret misappropriation, fraud and negligence claims, contract reformation and rescission, business valuation, and employment discrimination. These matters have ranged from two-party disputes to multi-party and class action litigation. Victor has also represented corporate clients in federal and state agency investigations and enforcement proceedings — including matters before FINRA and the Illinois Department of Labor.
Victor also counsels clients on data and document retention, business strategy, organizational efficiency, risk management, formation of new ventures, and issues related to privacy.

Victor is a co-author of “Recent Developments in Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Disability Insurance Law,” published annually in the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Law Journal.
